Easy-to-Use Technology
The Halal Exchange added advantage.
The Halal Exchange™ deploys a proprietary eCommerce technology, which is extremely simply to use. The eCatalogue-Transaction Engine™ is your Personal Trade Assistant. The Halal Exchange™ eliminates much of the paperwork, all rekeying of data and resulting delays and errors in completing the transaction.
Solution
Halal Global Trade is fundamentally about marketing and trade. More specifically, it is about international trade.
The Halal Exchange™ makes the import-export process as simple as buying from across the street. The Exchange deploys a proprietary Platform for international trade. The Halal Exchange™ has clients in over 40 countries. The Exchange complements Trade Shows and strengthens relationships. The results are increased business and higher profit margins.
eCatalogue
The average online Catalogue portal acts as a mere introductory service. Once the Buyers have identified products and Suppliers of interest, both parties will have to move offline and continue using emails, faxes and myriads of spreadsheets that result in complexities, errors and added costs.
According to the World Trade Organization the average international trade transaction involves: 20-30 different parties, 40 documents, 200 data elements (30 of which are repeated at least 30 times).
The complexities of import-export add as much 15% administrative overhead to the actual cost of goods.
In today’s highly competitive global markets, Suppliers and their clients need to reduce and even eliminate inefficiencies that result in higher costs and possible loss of market share. The fully integrated eCatalogue-Transaction Engine™ is a quantum leap in technology solutions. The eCatalogue -Transaction Engine™ automatically transfers all supplier online catalogue product data to an RFQ and Quotation within the Halal Exchange™ Platform. The eCatalogue-Transaction Engine™ allows the Suppliers to create the eCatalogue information only once. Buyers then browse the eCatalogue, determine factories and products of interest and with one simple click, have all the information including data and pictures to be transferred to their private Folders in the Halal Exchange™ Transaction Engine for further consideration and negotiations. There is absolutely no re-keying of data for the Suppliers and immediate access to relevant product data for the Buyers. That translates to significantly higher efficiency and higher business volumes and profit margins for both the Buyers and Suppliers.
Technology
The Halal Exchange Holistic solution is a web-based enterprise application that facilitates collaboration between parties involved in offshore sourcing and it is built around the Halal Exchange “Business Services Architecture”.
A Halal Exchange Module is a standalone software component that encapsulates domain-specific knowledge and functions. For example, the Geography Service has knowledge of countries, states/provinces, cities, etc. and provides geography-specific functions to other Halal Exchange Services. The power of this architecture lies in the fact that each Halal Exchange Service can be combined with other services and used in an unlimited number of ways.
You will note the Modules provide the critical, and often missing, perpetual visibility for managers and all other authorized personnel, during the entire transaction cycle.
Negotiation Service
The Negotiation Service is a flexible rule-based engine that controls negotiation workflow, business rules and participant roles, and their data access rights. It also handles data collection in an incremental and chronological process during the negotiation, so that negotiation history and flow can be reconstructed on demand. In order to provide its rich functionality, the Negotiation Service dynamically interacts with other Halal Exchange Services such as the Universal Price Engine™ for real-time price translation of Landed Unit Cost to FOB and back ad infinitum (including buyer specified mark up and margin requirements) and Discussion Service (for management of messages and discussions for each particular trade negotiation).
Landed Unit Cost
Universal Price Engine (UPE)™
This service is responsible for providing complex real-time price translations from LUC (Landed Unit Cost) to FOB and back ad infinitum. UPE’s dynamic calculation is based on monitoring duties, taxes, insurance, freight, hazardous goods classification, anti-dumping duties, quotas, consolidation and other applicable variables that affect the cost of goods. All of the above are in turn a function of country of origin and destination, product type, packaging, transportation method and multiple other parameters.
By providing real time translations between buyer (LUC) and supplier (FOB) views, UPE is removing complexity and reducing indirect overhead
Tracking Service
During negotiation, both buyers and suppliers can request samples. The complex task of managing the flow of samples between each buyer and many suppliers requires a comprehensive tracking system. When a sample is requested, the Tracking Service begins to monitor its request, shipment and any associated comments or issues.
When a Purchase Order is issued, the Tracking Service begins to monitor shipments, orders, additional samples, and all events in the order process. Information and events can be managed across international boundaries in real-time. With event management, shipment delays are collaboratively captured to resolve unexpected bottlenecks.
After defining your target dates, the Tracking Service captures data from carriers and other web-based event sources. Since all events are tracked, your supply chain activities are constantly measured. Event messages such as advanced shipping notifications are dispatched to report actual performance. With advanced notifications blind spots are eliminated, providing enterprise level visibility to critical path activities and up-to-date order status.
With the Tracking Service, all collaborative communication and trade documents are also centrally archived for historical reference.
Discussion Boards
During negotiations, participants (buyers and suppliers) are constantly raising and responding to numerous questions in order to clarify all relevant Request and negotiation details. At any given time, there are thousands of related and unrelated e-mails floating around within an organization, while trying to deal with a SINGLE transaction. This leads to errors and inefficiencies and therefore, added costs.
